Originating from my time at the university, the name ‘Segmento’ was crafted using the initials of my name, Sascha El Gendi. As I ventured further into the movie industry, ‘Segmento’ evolved into my brand. With the introduction of 3D printing technology, I gained the ability to elevate my projects to a more professional level. Over time, my passion for building useful tools and gadgets grew, leading to the creation of various items such as camera accessories, data wrangler stations, heated lens boxes and more. People began to take notice and they approached me with their ideas, seeking to bring them to life.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I took the opportunity to develop the initial version of the AboX, which gained international recognition. While my primary focus remains dedicated to camera operating, I thoroughly enjoy the process of building new gadgets that enhance the ease and enjoyment of life on set.
